Hi, I'm Bianca.

I spent twenty years inside higher education, most of it in enrollment, admissions, and the systems that make them work. Today, I do that work on my own terms. I help institutions build better admissions systems, and I coach PhD applicants through the process from the inside.

How I got here

I spent nine years at a career college. I started as a top-performing enrollment rep, then relocated to help grow a new campus, train the staff, and fix the processes underneath it.

That led me to UC Berkeley in 2015, where I worked as a Graduate Student Affairs Officer. It's a role that covers a lot of ground: admissions and advising, program management, funding, and the systems behind it all. From there, I helped build a joint UC Berkeley and UCSF doctoral program from the ground up. Along the way I read hundreds of applications, sat in on committee conversations, and managed the fellowship funding behind PhD admissions.

Over a decade at UC gave me something rare: a full view of how graduate admissions really works, from the enrollment operations that feed the funnel to the faculty conversations that decide who gets in.

What I do now

For institutions, I bring what I learned inside Higher Ed organizations, building or fixing their own admissions systems. That includes workflow design, enrollment tracking, yield strategy, and training teams for remote execution. Everything I do is grounded in what I've seen work in high-volume graduate admissions environments.

For applicants, I coach PhD candidates using the PhD-Ready Framework, a diagnostic system I developed from a decade of reading applications inside UC Berkeley. The framework names the four dimensions committees actually evaluate: program understanding, statement legibility, fit signaling, and doctoral readiness. The PhD-Ready Framework has been featured in Dr. Fred Martin's graduate program guide at UT San Antonio's College of AI, Cyber and Computing, where he is Professor and Chair of Computer Science.
