I keep this simple because that is how I work. This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. If you have a question this page does not answer, email me and I will give you a straight answer.

This website is biviconsulting.com, including the diagnostic at diagnostic.biviconsulting.com. It is owned and operated by BIVI Consulting, based in Washington state.

The short version

I collect your information in two ways: automatically when you visit (analytics and cookies), and directly when you give it to me (forms, the diagnostic, scheduling a call, or joining the book waitlist). I use it to run this website, respond to you, and send you what you asked for. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone except the service providers that keep this website running.

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal information when you visit this website, including:

When you subscribe to hear from me, I collect your email address so I can send you occasional emails about graduate admissions and my work. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately. This information is stored with Squarespace, the website hosting provider, so they can provide website services and help me manage my relationship with you.

The PhD-Ready Diagnostic

When you take the PhD-Ready Diagnostic at diagnostic.biviconsulting.com, I collect:

  • Your email address

  • Your first and last name, if you choose to provide them

  • Your responses to the diagnostic questions

I use this to deliver your results and to follow up with resources related to your results. Your diagnostic responses are not shared with anyone. This information is stored with Squarespace, the website hosting provider.

Contact and other webforms

When you submit information to this website via webform, I collect the data requested in the webform in order to track and respond to your submission. This information goes to Squarespace, the website hosting provider, so they can provide website services and help me manage my relationship with you.

Book waitlist

When you join the waitlist for my book, I collect your name and email address so I can let you know when the book is available. That is the only thing I use it for. This information is stored with Squarespace, the website hosting provider.

Scheduling a call

When you schedule an appointment by booking on this website, I collect personal information from you to complete the booking. This may include your:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Details relating to your appointment

This information goes to Squarespace, which owns Acuity Scheduling, the online scheduling service provider, so they can provide online booking services.

Purchases

Digital products, like the printable diagnostic workbook, are sold through Gumroad, a third-party platform. When you buy something on Gumroad, your payment and contact information goes to Gumroad, not to this website. You can read the Gumroad Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data. Gumroad shares your email address with me so I can support your purchase.

Emails from me

If you gave me your email through the subscribe form, the diagnostic, or the book waitlist, I may email you. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. If you emailed me directly or booked a call, I will reply to you, because that is the point.

Fonts

This website serves font files from and renders fonts using Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this site to you, these third parties may receive personal information about you, including information about your browser, network, or device, information about this site and the page you are viewing, and your IP address.

How long I keep your information

I keep your information for as long as I need it to do the things described above. If you unsubscribe, ask me to delete your information, or stop working with me, I delete what I no longer need.

Your choices

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email

  • Ask me what information I have about you

  • Ask me to correct or delete your information

To do any of these, email me through the contact page and I will take care of it. No forms, no runaround.

Children

This website and my services are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
